How to Transfer Your Save from Chapter 1 → Chapter 2

To properly continue your story with all your choices, relationship points, and progress intact, always use the special save created at the end of each chapter.

Method 1: Online Sync (Recommended)

Step 1: Reach the End of Chapter 1

1. Play until you see the message: "Save now!"
2. Open the Save menu and create a new save file. This is the only save you should transfer.

Step 2: Upload the Chapter 1 Save

1. Still in the Save screen, look for the Upload Sync button (usually at the bottom).
2. Click it and confirm.
3. Wait until the upload finishes. You will receive a 10-character Sync Code.
4. Write the code down or copy it carefully. Do not close the game until the upload is complete.

Step 3: Open Chapter 2

1. Launch Independent Horizons – Chapter 2.

Step 4: Download the Save

1. Go to the Load screen.
2. Click the Download Sync button.
3. Enter the 10-character code you received.
4. Wait until the download finishes.

Step 5: Load Your Transferred Save

1. Open the Load menu and select the Chapter 1 save you just downloaded. The game will continue into Chapter 2 with all your previous choices and progress.

Method 2: Manual Copy-Paste (No Server Needed)

If you prefer not to use the online sync:

1. Locate the save folder of Chapter 1 (usually something like %appdata%\RenPy\[GameName]\saves on Mac or ~[GameName]\game\saves on Windows).
2. Copy the save files you want.
3. Paste them into the corresponding save folder of Chapter 2.
